Take a walk on the European Side
Date du début: 1 août 2011,

Based on the training “Your chance – be a part of Europe! Non-formal education for local and regional youth engagement”, which was held in summer 2010 the follow- up project “Take a walk on the European Side: Capacity building in non-formal education for local and regional youth engagement” is focused on capacity building in using non-formal education and its methods as a sustainable basic for European youth work activities. Understanding the engagement of young people on local and regional level as a first step towards active participation on European level the training will set the basics of non-formal learning, its methods and its use e.g. in peer education and the development of local initiatives and small youth projects on local and regional level. A diversity of non-formal methods will be used to raise knowledge and challenge the debate about the challenges and opportunities of non-formal education, how to apply these methods, how to promote active participation among other young people, to promote the contact making and co-operation between the participants and motivate them to act as multipliers after the training passing on aspects of the programme contents to other young people. During the programme active learning behaviour and reflection will be reached through working in small working groups and continuous debriefings. After all, the participants are asked to support the implementation of planned follow-up activities, assisted by the project partners. To sum up the expected outcomes of the Training Course are competent multipliers with the capacity to design and implement local initiatives, small youth projects on local and regional level as well as European projects with the support of their organisations and local communities. The training will be realized in Prijedor with 30 participants from neighbouring partner countries and programme countries in the period 1st – 9th of September 2011.
