The project involves to improve knowledge about computer-controlled Industrial plants and computer drawing software. Improve programming skills and what is new in industrial drawing software. The course provider is a well-known technical school in Germany that has special knowledge in this field and is well equipped. The idea is to send two professional teachers from the school technical department to attend the course next November, the teachers “Haraldur Gylfason and Hörður Baldvinsson” are both master qualified mechanics with years of experience in the engineering field. They are both interested in education in the engineering and motivated to follow innovations and better practice in the metal industry in Europe. One the course the main focus will be on the following: Monday 30th of November CNC programmable industrial machines and metal welding machines. Tuesday 01st of December programmable water cutting machines. Wednesday 02nd On hand programming industrial lathe and turning machines. Thursday 03rd Autodesk Inventor drawing programme. Friday 04th Programming for water cutting machines. Saturday 05th course summary. The main benefit are hopefully some benefits and understanding what is happening in the technology in the metal industry and the teachers will be able to pass on this knowledge to the students at the school and older students who are seeking further education in this field. The school is already providing education for technical staff at the local factories such as Norðural (www.central aluminium.com) and Elkem (www.jarnblendi.is) one of the main ideas is to be able to provide new technology to Icelandic companies.
