Date du début: 1 sept. 2016,

This project aims to address youth radicalisation by offering training in radicalisation-prevention strategies and fostering cooperation between youth organisations and public authorities. The participants will be engaged in activities on youth inclusion, social cohesion intercultural dialogue integration and conflict management; examples of activities aimed at de-radicalisation; discussions and meetings with representatives of local authorities and stakeholders. The main aim of this project is to address one of the most pressing concerns of European societies – the problem of youth radicalisation. On one hand, young people, often affected by negative consequences of the economic and social crisis are becoming increasingly susceptible to radicalisation (both online and as a result of peers' pressure). On the other hand, the rise of radical terrorists and religious extremists leads to increased social tension between different groups within societies, with representatives of minorities often wrongly blamed and stigmatised by representatives of majorities. These problems are mostly visible in Western European countries, as Belgium, France and UK. All of this is taking place within the context of increased introversion among public. People seem to be interested only in their own affairs, separating themselves from others with “walls or indifference”. In our project we want to address these challenges by deconstructing the existing problems, promoting educational solutions and fostering strategic cooperation between youth organisations and public authorities. Therefore, we have decided to organise a training course for youth workers and youth leaders on strategies for preventing radicalisation. The project aims to provide participants with required competencies on youth inclusion, social cohesion intercultural dialogue integration and conflict management, as tools of the prevention of youth radicalisation; to increase the knowledge about the root causes of the youth radicalisation; to empower participants to be able to act as multipliers, using these competences in their daily work and thus empowering their peers and young people they work with; to facilitate cooperation between youth organisations and local stakeholders on this concern. The methods will include non-formal methodology based workshops, laboratory and training session on youth inclusion, social cohesion intercultural dialogue integration and conflict management. Through this training courses, we plan to train participants in how to tackle the problem of youth radicalization. In the short-term, the project will have an impact on its participants, who will be trained in radicalisation-prevention strategies. The short-term impact of the course will be on its participants, who will receive the necessary competencies in various youth empowerment and radicalization-prevention strategies. In the long-term we expect to see future activities resulting from co-operation between our participants (we will facilitate special sessions devoted to future projects)Potential longer term benefits are: - Develop more long-term projects with subject matters experts in order to create trust and build relationships with young individuals vulnerable to terrorist radicalization- Act as a bridge between hard-to-reach individuals and their family, social workers, psychologists and other relevant actors- Together with other organisations develop synergies between global, national and locally tailored educational projects in order to create integrated learning environments that build resilience against radicalization-Stimulate and support a broader sharing of good practices and lessons learned in the field of countering radicalization among various stakeholders, civil society and businesses, as well as facilitate the development of joint projects-Develop and implement educational initiatives to equip young people with the knowledge and skills, including on Internet safety, to understand and reject radicalization narratives and to promote counter-narratives based on human rights, tolerance, and democracy-Develop and disseminate locally tailored counter-narratives and promote alternative role modelsThe consortium : 41 youth workers from ten countries ITALY - CZECH REPUBLIC - GREECE - LITHUANIA - FORMER YUGOSLAV REPUBLIC OF MACEDONIA - ROMANIA - SLOVAKIA - SLOVENIA - SPAIN -TURKEY will be meeting in Colletorto ( Italy ) from 1 to 9 September 2016.
