Building cultural and language capital of schools. Improving quality and attractiveness of education.
Nowadays, cultural capital is the most significant competence in the modern world. A combination of practical language competence and cultural capital should be treated as the main virtual value for our graduate. However, if we want to convey knowledge and skills in the rage of this combination to students, traditional teaching methods will not be sufficient. Using information and communication technology in education and an occupation is required.
According to our school development plan, mainly we would like to improve and attractiveness of school action in three areas: language competence, cultural competence and information and communication technology competence in teaching. During last 2 years we trained teachers of foreign languages, arts, humanities, science and others. All teachers starts to become leaders of their subjects teams and due to various and professional courses they are be able to enhance systematically quality and attractiveness of teaching. Our teachers can use gathered abilities and competences in preparation of external examinations, educational projects, upgrading education, international interaction like Erasmus and eTwinning projects. Together with students our teachers created new media center, the area of education, cooperation and new experience for them. We have started to change our school. It is more important that all this activities are just a beginning. In this moment we input new innovative learning programs, workshops for teachers, studends with teachers are more open for suggestions and new ideas.
In the future, these actions should prevent our graduates from the exclusion on the labour market and the abandonment of education. Our graduate, who possesses cultural and language competences, has got bigger self-assessment and self-esteem. These qualities provide viable possibilities to enter the labour market without any problems.
