System for the Evaluation, Recognition and Validation of Technical Competencies in the Chemical Sector - CheMiTech

The CheMiTech project aims to develop and pilot a system for the evaluation, recognition and validation of skills, specifically those relating to technological changes within the chemical sector. The primary target group for the project are employees, particularly those with minimal or no formal qualifications, able to benefit from the recognition of work-based learning. Activities will include establishing a model for transnational co-operation and social dialogue, identification of the key skills and processes specific to technological change within the chemical sector, development of a framework for the evaluation of the identified skills and the design, development, piloting and introduction of an instrument for the recognition and accreditation of key skills. Beyond the project it is expected that the identified key skills and the accreditation system be presented for ratification to national certification bodies in the participating partner countries, for which a number of project partners are experienced in this field. Project outputs will include a series of reports on key technological skills, a map of skills and processes in the chemical sector, a report on best practice in the evaluation, recognition and validation of key skills and a framework for the identification and recognition of key skills relating to technological change. The majority of products will be produced in EN & ES and made available for download via the project website. The framework will be developed in all partner languages and released on CD-Rom. Dissemination will take place throughout the project lifetime, beginning with awareness-raising on the aims of the project (publicity materials mailed to relevant bodies), continuing with informing key stakeholders on the progress of the project (newsletters, information bulletins) and resulting in a presentation of the key project results (project website, CD-Rom, information days in each country).
