The project aims to research the characteristics, processes and constraints of sustainable business growth for SME's in the Kent/Medway and Nord Pas de Calais/Cote d'Opale regions. The research will build upon knowledge already gained in the Cardiff and Midlands regions (both of these are in related subject areas and provide useful starting points) adding value in terms of comparativeness and methodological rigour. The research will provide a comprehensive overview of the subject area and a greater understanding of the processes and practices required for sustainable productivity growth, which should translate into the provision of future services targeted in the right places, for the right people.
