“Support for sport” is the initiative of Clubul Sportiv Experienta Multisport (CSEM) organization from Arad in west Romania. The project took part from Erasmus+ Programme, Key Action 1 - European Voluntary Service (EVS) with reference no. 2014-1-RO01-KA105-000866 in the period 01.09.2014-31.12.2015. The project involved 10 EVS volunteers from 4 countries: Spain, Italy, Poland and France, and 6 sending organizations. Volunteering stages were realized between February and November 2015, taking part 5 boys, 5 girls between 23 and 29 years old, having gender equality and 5 persons with fewer opportunities. the most obstacles were at economical level - unemployed - EVS representing for them the perfect opportunity to accumulate experience and competences in order to find a job due to their participation in SFS. During those 4, 8 or 9 months of stage, EVS volunteers supported CSEM in popularizing and organizing the sport events from Arad as well as at national and international level. In selecting the participants, the priority was a strong motivation in organizing events, and desire to practice sports. Participants gained skills and abilities necessary to level up their qualifications in organizing events on sport theme. The competences gained from the activities realized in stage period are described in Youthpass certificate and Europass tools, which made participation of EVS volunteers more competitive at job market in future. The volunteers supported in total 5 sport events involving the practice of the basics sports from CSEM: running, cycling and swimming but also a team sport - frisbee, as it follows: ● Marathin, half-marathon and cross road of Arad ● Tomatoes festival - on bike ● Arad Duathlon ● Funsbee - frisbee tournament ● Arad Thriatlon In those 5 events, the involvement was crucial to can have the following totals, results in 2015 in number of: ● 4447 subscribed persons; ● 3182 participants; ● 601 volunteers. Important role of EVS volunteers for promotion and dissemination was the contribution, administration and/or creation of 5 websites related to events and 1 for SFS project, 7 facebook pages related to events and CSEM page. Two semnificant results are the e-books: the guide After EVS - containing resources and ideas for the life after finalizing an EVS stage, as well as Online E-book SUPPORT FOR SPORT - containing the project results, details about each event, SFS and the involved parts. Results regarding the project indicators can be seen here: - No of hours of physical activities/EVS volunteer – more than 120 h/volunteer comparing the 115h proposed - No of training courses delivered to the EVS volunteers – 11 subjects comparing at least 8 proposed; - No of events where the EVS volunteers participate in the organizing team: 5 comparing at least 4 proposed; - No of persons informed by the EVS volunteers about the benefits of sport and healthy lifestyle customs: over 700 persons from Arad and over 500 volunteers, so more than 1200 coparing the proposed at least 1000; - No of local volunteers trained by EVS volunteers in order to continue their work: 60 comparing the 20 proposed; - No of visitors on web-sites, number of viewers of the project’s results: over 26800 comparing at least 5000 proposed; - No of local/national/international partnerships realized for the promotion of events healthy lifestyle: more than 100; - No of participants in the sport events where the EVS volunteers are involved: 3182 comparing the proposed number:at least 1000. Regarding the continuosity of activities from the project, an important result is the fact that due to trained volunteers to continue the work of EVS volunteers, CSEM have already an organizing team with whom to start in 2016. The most imporant result is the fact that 10 volunteers learned how to organize sport events, each of them coordinated at least one department in at least 1 event and 2 from them coordinated at least 2 events each. This aspect is giving to the volunteers the confidence to find a job at least in sport domain and events organizing domain.
