The project aims at experimenting the educational and training process of a brand new professional profile, not available in the labour market yet, as a result of a mixture of different but complementary competencies drawn from operators from different professional fields: the sailing, waitering, cooking and touristic guidance. The peculiar training process, designed by the Scientific Committee of the Hotel and Catering "IPSEO Aldo Moro" Institute, representative of different and complementary professional skills, will provide and ensure a complete achievement of competencies to the target groups of students from the partner countries (15 students of each group) through a mixed methodology that includes traditional classes, learning by doing, cooperativelearning. The didactic modules (48 hours of theory and 32 hours of on the field training activities) will be held in different learning environments, such as classrooms, tourist agencies, yachts. That has requested the participation of two companies operating in those peculiar business fields. The final output will be a new professional profile not only able to welcome guests on board, but to manage all aspects of life on board, from to cooking to organising entertainment activities and excursions. Such a very high professional profile could easily be appreciated in the labour market (expecially in the nautic field) because a Skipper/Chef possesses the skills of four different professionals. The model of this experimental project and its achievements will be formalised in order to be spread in the international labour market.
