The project is part of the school's project to enhance the European dimension in the teaching of our school. The aim has been to strengthen the teaching of foreign language aside from English. 2 teachers from the school took part in the course with a focus on "Culinary Austria" - food culture in Austria and food in Austrian art, literature and culture. The study of the Austrian cuisine is an approach to study a country's culture, history and society. The course has as an aim to expand the so-called "Landeskunde" topic, which is compulsory in German classes, so it can include Austria, which is often somewhat overlooked. The teachers that followed the course have shared materials and knowledge with the school's others German teachers, and they have built a network of German teachers at other schools in Denmark and other European countries. Students have welcomed the inclusion of Austria as a focus area in the German lessons. A direct extension and continuation of this has been 8 days of job shadowing at AHS Heustadelgasse (Bundesgymnasium und Bundesrealgymnasium), Heustadelgasse 4, A-1220 Vienna, where 1 German teacher for 8 days attended the German classes and even taught himself on different levels. The school is by Austrian standards very advanced and modern school as regards educational methods and materials, a so-called eLSA school (E-Learning as an integrated part of school life). It is also a so-called KiDZ school, where modern technology is implemented in the lessons. The visit has been extremely rewarding to the project as regards educational materials and educational methods. After the visit both materials and knowledge have been shared with the other German teachers and has already had a big impact on the German classes.
