Tourism is a growing business in Sweden and internationally. To pursue a sustaniable development in the trade is important. We want to manage an education at a high quality and give the students knowledge that is important in their future life as professionals and that also makes them employable. We have choosen to cooperate with the Azores since they are good role models in the field. The objectives with the project is to learn about how tourismeducation is managed and how the persue sustainable tourism in practice. We will do this by take part in the education (job shadowing) in a school for tourism education, visiting entrepreneurs and the government department of environmental issues at the Azores. The participants are three teachers with differnt profiles and roles at our school and they will havae different focus in the project. The result of the project will be deeper knowledge that will increase the quality of our teaching and the education at its whole, which make our school more attractive for coming students. The aim of the project is also to start a long term cooperation with the school in a future project.
