Since 2011 at cbs Van Kampen we give vvtoE. We have started giving vvtoE in the classes 1 till 4 and have extended this each year. At this time is vvtoE a standard in all the groups for at least one hour a week. This implementation has been realized with accompaniment of Early Bird, a center of excellence for English in primary schools. Through EarlyBird all teachers have been trained Classroom English. In addition, there have been various classes and counseling visits in all groups and have four teachers in two different trips, participated in the study trip to Cantenbury. CBS Van Kampenis engaged in a certification process to Earlybird certified English in all groups. At this moment, this is done for 3 years. We are in the final stages of certification. Namely the integration of English in the other disciplines and upgrading the language skills of the teachers. The certification process of Earlybird has been recognized by the European Platform as a tool to determine whether a school meets the requirements of the national standard vvtoE. We want the 13 teachers, who have volunteered to participate in their holiday, to follow the course "Methodology and Language for Primary Teachers' training institute at Canterbury Pilgrims. Pilgrims is a reputable language school is accredited by the British Council and member of ARELS (Association of Recognised English Language Services). This course gives attention to both language skills and the teaching methodology of vvtoE. During the course we will focus on the following objectives: - To improve the linguistic skills of teachers. - With the objective to give better English lessons to the children a - The implementation of "CLIL" ("Content and Language Integrated Learning ', integration of English in other domains) - To learn more from the 4 skills of teaching (listening / reading / writing / speaking) - To increase their own skill with creative teaching ideas - Learning how communicative learning in contexts can be offered - Improve the own skills in grammar and vocabulary - Gaining Confidence with vvtoE - Exchange of experiences. - Deepening the knowledge and use of English culture. - Teachers are confedent of the implementation of the method Backpack in all classes - Professional development of exchange opportunities abroad. The course is divided into the following activities: Sunday: Travel day Monday: Group Binding, set and clarify goals, challenges in the teaching of young children Tuesday: What motivates young children, speaking teacher skills, teaching skills speak 2 Wednesday: Teacher skills listening, reading, writing Thursday: pronunciation, vocabulary, learning through movement Friday: learning through movement 2, dramatic formation, retrospective Saturday: Travel day The project is realized in collaboration with Early Bird. Earlybird advice and support regarding the logistics of the trip. During the course week we will stay with host families. The stay in host families is regulated by Pilgrims. In the "terms & conditions" Pilgrims more information on the safety and protection of the participants. The participants close their own travel insurance. In the preparatory phase will be with the team members are clearly under the guidance of the expert groups discussed the objectives of the study.
