Student Advancement of Graduates Employability

The Students Advancement of Graduate Employability (SAGE) project focuses on enhancing the capacity of student representatives to take part in influencing and building policies aimed at improving the rate of graduates' employability at European, national and local level. In order to build up this capacity, the project will conduct extensive research on educational policies, engage with multiple stakeholders from both national and European level and offer a comprehensive training process to a number of students and other interested stakeholders from across the continent.The main outcomes of the project will be the results of the research activities: the Bologna with Student Eyes 2012 publication, the EU2020 Student Review and the Study on Graduates Employability. The project falls into the footsteps of previous ESIB-led projects which looked at various aspects of educational policy and empowering student representatives to take a more active part in the governance of higher education institutions or the decision-making process with regards to national policies.The project will benefit from an extensive partnership between ESIB, four national-level student unions from different regions of Europe, one government agency and one research and policy institute. This consortium will undertake extensive research focused on looking into Bologna and other EU related policies, their impact on education and on the employability of graduates who have been affected by the respective reforms. The project will follow-up the research component with the creation of a training program for student representatives, the publication of a handbook on employability and the dissemination of information via an interactive on-line platform. The final outcome of the project will consist of a series of policy recommendations which we hope will be at the backbone of university reforms looking to improve the employability outlook for graduating students.
