54 SOU St.Ivan Rilski is high school of foreign languages and information technology-the biggest in the area and one with the highest rate of students’ acceptance to college. Eighty-three qualified teachers work tirelessly to improve the quality of education and make the school attractive territory for their 1160 students of different nationalities. The languages taught are English, German and Russian. Students choose to study two of them. English and German have been introduced as the first foreign language from the first grade. In high school some subjects such as history, physics and cycle Philosophy are taught in English. Our priority is to maintain the good image of the school by keeping its high standards of education.The European development plan of the school has identified staff mobility training as a priority. The modernization of the school will achieve one of the objectives of the Strategy “Europe 2020” in the creation of individuals capable of effective public realization.The main goal is to improve the work quality of teachers and to motivate their career development. Our specific objectives are to:1. Improve the level of the key competences of the teachers through taking part in training courses.2. Improve foreign language teaching and creating our own multimedia products.3. Introduce new ICT in foreign language teaching and use electronic textbooks.Planned activities:-8 staff training mobilities to the United Kingdom with partners Bell International College, Cambridge and IPC Exeter. The participants in the project will join in the following courses: “Drama techniques for the English language classroom”; “Developing oral fluency in the Secondary English language classroom”, "Educational Technology Today", " Content and Language Integrated Learning-Maths and Science" and "Creativity in the Classroom". Profile of participants: 8 teachers of the three educational degrees will take part in the project.Expected results: 1. 8 completed training mobilities and 8 certificates received.2. 8 follow-up reports submitted.3. 2 press conferences held, 2 published articles in the local media.4. 8 open classes taught.5. 400 questionnaires filled out.6. Creating a webpage for the project on weebly for education.com7. Filming a movie about the project and uploading it to youtube.com and vbox7.bg8. Promoting the project at upcoming seminars and conferences.9. An article in the online program of Raabe "The good news"10. Publication in professional orientated facebook groups, websites and blogs.11. Uploading of the lesson plans for the open classes on the Scientix platform.Methodology of project implementation1.Analysis of the results achieved.2.Supervision of the mobility.3.Analysis of school and teacher needs for professional development.Impact:Influence on the teachers- professional and personal development; improvement of their level of the English language; increase in their professional motivation and self-confidence ; mastering their skills in working with new technologies as part of the strategies for development of contemporary education.Influence on the organisation - increase in the quality of education; modernising methods of work in foreign language education; applying information technologies to a wider range of subjects.Influence on the students- educational games, mobile applications and digital tests will motivate students, improve the learning process and increase their personal motivation. All this will contribute to building their tolerance in a multi-ethnic environment as well as creating an active attitude towards European values and issues.The mobility project implementation at 54 High School will raise the level of key competencies of teachers; broaden their contacts; modernise methods of work in foreign language education; widen the application of information technologies.The potential long-term effects of our participation in the programme are: promoting the school's prestige; increasing the quality of education; initiating long-term international cooperation. This programme will meet the evolving needs of social, cultural and linguistic diversity of learning environments.
