Consortium of secondary schools in the Posavje region and Kindergarten Mavrica Brežice are submitting a project titled "Stopimo skupaj". We would like to organize a work placement mobility for 30 students of three secondary vocational schools and four staff mobilities to improve organizational and didactic approaches in organizations. The priority is to implement examples of good practice in the local area.
The idea of consortium has developed as a result of decline in number of students in the last four years. It seems that we need to develop new strategies to solve the problem. In our opinion work experience abroad, different methods of work and actual work experience as well as real life experience can help us to increase the number of students. Project activities are going to improve students' language, social and professional skills as well as their awareness of finding their own way in entrepreneurship. Students will write business plans and try to bring foreign practice in local area. One of the aims is to improve their confidence, also in the reference of work mobility in the European labour market.
The project will provide the employees with theoretical and practical knowledge of management in educational institutions. Furthermore, they will gain experience from taking part in international projects, co-working with parents and local community, carrying out “matura” exams and coping with decreasing number of students. Teachers are also interested in the extent of incorporation of economy in general curriculum. The kindergarten employees are keen to acquire modern pedagogical approaches and learn about examples of good practice, team management within an institution, organization of work experience and get an overview of a curriculum.
Schools are going to plan the activities together, set unified standards for selection of candidates and gain team work experience within the consortium. Results of our work are planned to be published on our own web site. What is more, all the employees involved will be obliged to implement their new experience in their work environment. This way the results should become more sustainable and we hope to motivate the employees and students to take part in mobility over the next years.
