STIMENT aims to improve entrepreneurship conditions in the four regions that are lagging behind, and provide new and innovative approaches to entrepreneurship in the Brescia region. The aim is to stimulate the development of partnerships between local and regional actors of the five participating regions in order to enhance their entrepreneurial knowledge and skills by exchanging experiences and transferring tools, methods and policies. STIMENT concentrates on three priority themes: Economic Intelligence, E-learning, and Logistics and Locations. Achievements: Lead Partners has established management and co-ordination system in the project for a smooth and effective co-ordination of the project. The first Steering Committee and Monitoring Committee meetings were held on 15th and 16th of May 2003 in Brescia. A brochure to be use in all regions and a web site www.stiment.net has been launched during this period. Concerning the fact that the INTERREG III C projects are implemented in Poland for the first time, the regional activities in Wielkopolska have focused on the promotion and informational activities. A Consortium Agreement to be signed has also been developed. All regions are taking an active part in the management of the project. For the selection of sub-projects, a two-phase procedure was tested. The first 'Call for ideas' resulted in 46 submissions. All ideas were published on the STIMENT website 8 project proposals received in the second call were evaluated. Clarification requests were prepared to prioritize projects. SC telephone meetings were held to evaluate the received project proposals. Four new sub-projects were approved in MC meeting in February 2005 and a kick-off meeting was arranged in Brescia in March for new sub-projects. Totally nine sub-projects has been ongoing in STIMENT. 6 Monitoring Committee meetings and 18 Steering Committee meetings (including telephone conferences) has been held so far.A second mid-term conference was held in Kiruna, Sweden in February 2006. 4 newsletter has been published and also a final booklet on STIMENT. All sub-projects have finalized their work and a final conference was held in Garda, Italy June 2006 where they reported their results.An SC meeting was held in Metz on November 30 and December 1 2006. A 10th sub-project has has started and it is EKC+. It has a short project period during spring 2007 and has participation from four out of five STIMENT regions, only Italy is missing. EKC+ ended the project in June 2007 with a final conference in Poznan, Wielkopolska. Three SC meetings and one MC meeting was arranged . The result from STIMENT RFO was presented during national meetings in many of the STIMENT regions. Step was taken to prepare the closing of STIMENT project.
