Step by step... vers le bilinguisme
Date du début: 1 juin 2015, Date de fin: 31 mai 2017 PROJET  TERMINÉ

We have been working on this English project for 7 years with coherence and continuity as keywords. We started attending English classes to reinforce our basics and training courses with the aim of teaching English in our classes so as to get our certification. Over the years we offered different activities to our pupils. Daily rituals and welcome activities are currently performed in English, each class has a weekly English lesson for one hour, in half groups of 12 to 13 children, and Geography is taught in English in the fourth and fifth years and this spring, pupils from the fifth year will take part in a one-week full immersion stay. In the lshort term we would like some subjects to be taught in English to several classes ( and to all classes in the middle term) and four teachers have accepted this challenge. Receiving the Erasmus+ grant and selecting the proposed training would permit us to improve our practical experience and to give our pupils an opportunity to open up to Europe. The chosen training will respond to our two main needs : -reinforcing our basicsin English ( developing self-confidence and getting a better knowledge of a language so as to be able to teach it) -discovering and mastering new teaching methods and tools so as to teach a subject other than English in English. Our former experience in Ireland (three of us were there) came as evidence that this application is indeed a driving force and we are ready to do our utmost. Our strength lies in our team ! Should our application be accepted, we know that our school, our pupils will greatly benefit from it. The teaching of a subject other than English in English will be offered to all age groups so as to take a great leap towards bilingual education.
