Step by step to the intercultural education in Liepaja Catholic primary school

The project will take place in Liepaja Catholic primary school, in Latvia. It will host two volunteers from Italy and Spain for the period of 9 months with the aim to provide an intercultural and non-formal education for kids by implementing new methods, ideas and cultural exchange brought by the EVS volunteers in the schools' every day life. The main tasks include:1) use of sports and outdoor activities in the breaks and after-class time children spend in school2) implementation of non-formal education methods in the English language classes3) introduction of the Spanish and Italian culture in the study process by involving volunteers in assistance in different subjects by sharing their knowledge and experience from their home countries related to the topic (music, dance, cuisine, sports games, history, nature etc.)4) rising school activity visibility by active communication through medias, social networks and regular meetings with parents and stakeholders5) to exchange working methods and study content used in different countries in the primary education.This experience will enrich the school life with new initiatives will bring new inputs in the daily school organization, provide the new methodology for the teachers and encourage them for a communication. School staff and parents will improve their foreign language communication skills.The project will promote the interschool collaboration through the events initiated by Liepaja Catholic primary school and volunteers.Teachers and pupils will become familiar with a non-formal education and this experience will motivate the whole collective to implement more and more non-formal methods in their daily work.Pupils will be motivated to acquire foreign language skills, will have real practice in using foreign language in their daily life and will see its suitability in their future.The exchange of Christian education content and methodology between the involved countries will be promoted.The volunteers will be introduced to Latvian traditional and liturgic culture.Newly established partnership will be created with the perspective for future collaboration in other Erasmus+ projects. Volunteers once back in home countries will be a new human resource for their sending organizations to be involved in the project development and new initiatives in the local communities. The gained skills and knowledge and intercultural experience will facilitate volunteers' integration in the job market at the national or international level.
