We are an elementary school with 3 establishments in Bruges. Since last schoolyear we focussed on STEM. Due to the influence of the vison of our minister of education, we set up a STEM-action plan over 3 schoolyears.In this plan we put professionalisation and sharing of knowledge in the picture. This plan is to be used by the entire schoolteam: pre-school, primary school and principal level.Our team followed a lot of courses based on STEM. The teachers of pre-school and the first grade of primary school are hungry for more. A lot of courses in the context of STEM, targets to much on general vision and activities for older children. The courses for younger children focus more on technology and less on science. We found professionalisation in the Erasmus+ project CEYS (Creativity through Early Years Science Education'). Our team is very keen on going to this summerschool. We would find it a an added value for our project if a teacher and the principal could take part of it.May/june:SWOT analysis. Reviewing flaws, needed insights and issues for learing.June: preparation Summerschool.Practical preparation of the summerschool, study of literature and meetings between participants.July: coursesSummerschool 10 july - 15 july.September/ october: anchorChecking if goals are reached. Participants spread their knowledge in team meetings.NovemberParticipants try out activities in the context of science for young children. Every teacher can vistit these activities if they want to know more about the subject. The prinicipal also tries out some activities for the first grade of primary school.Teachers of other schools are invited for a session CEYS in the STEMpel. The STEMpel is an open learning community for STEM activities. This is a building in one of our establishments which we will provide with al lot of materials for STEM-activities. The STEMpel wil be also used by other schools. It is a place to share knowledge.December - june:Every teammember from preschool and first grade of elementary school tries out activities in the context of CEYS.In team meetings we will reflect on all the activities.
