Stay human! a Human Rights education programme that connects both theory and real life practice in a non-formal programme. Most of all, Stay Human connects countries, partners and relevant human rights topics. How it works?Stay Human! will build on the experiences of the Stay Human! youth exchange that was hosted by Associazione Joint from Italy April 2015.In Stay Human! Human Rights education programme we wish to both train Human Rights educators and to provide a large group of young people the chance to get informed and aware of human rights in order to live in a better society. And we undertake this journey together. 6 European organizations. What makes this cooperation unique is that Stay Human! will be hosted in 4 of the 6 partner countries.Objectives- In accordance with the Council of Europe we wish to empower young people to become responsible citizens, educators and advocates for human rights.- We aim to show how human rights issues differ on a regional level and to gain better understanding of the historica land geographical aspects of human rights matters.-We want to create awareness among young people about Human Rights and stimulate them to take an active role in promoting & advocating these rights in their local realities-We aim at training young people in becoming Human Rights educators in their own local realitiesParticipants profileA total of individual 102 participants, young people and youth worker from Romania, Lithuania, Italy, The Netherlands, Spain and France take part in the different mobility activities with an average age between 18 and 30 years old. Most important characteristic of the participants; they are interested in Human Rights Education, Human Rights Activism and a strong interest in one of 3 topics of the youth exchanges; LGBT+ Rights, Migrant Rights & Children's Rights. This programme will include young people with fewer opportunities, especially youngsters challenged by socio-economic circumstances and young people that face discrimination and/or violation of their rights.The programmeThe entire HR education programme of Stay Human! consist of 8 different mobility activities. We choose those topics for the youth exchanges that have a strong link with our identity as organizations, this enables us to connect the youth exchanges to topics of importance in our local societies. The programme is constructed in a flexible way giving partners the opportunity to choose in which activities they would like to take part, coherent with their own identity and capacity. Human Rights education programme in The NetherlandsResult & impactParticipants will;-have a bigger self-esteem to advocate/or promote Human Rights-have a strong network of peers all over Europe that can offer an exchange of best practices and asupport network and at the same time collaborate on new Human Rights activities- have the ability to self-organise non-formal Human Rights education activities - feel more confident to formulate an opinion of/deeper understanding of human rights and the effect of the local environment/culture on the support level and adherence to them.- feel more competent to guide or direct others in a course of action, influence their opinions and behaviors and lead the way by example- have an improved capacity to interact with different people from different countries, with different cultures, religious or sexual orientation, ways to be and ways to think;Partner organisations will;- have a better capacity to address human rights issues at a local and European level;- have a big impact on the local level regarding their promotion of Human Rights. - have improved the capacity of their team of youth workers/peer educators/volunteers in supporting minority groups and protecting their rights;- have improved their own capacity in implementing multi-measure Erasmus+ mobilities and;- have consolidated the old-ready strong partnership with partners of the project;We expect this long term training programme to have a sustainable impact by broadening the perspectives of the 102 young people participating in any of the exchanges, enriching their lives with new friends, understandings and ways to advocate for and promote their own rights, those of their peers and citizens in general. This programme will have a sustainable impact by training 32 new Human Rights educators and enable them to create waves in their local realities. At the same time all partners will be more equipped to run Human Rights education programmes locally but also in a European consortium.
