Start. Run. Grow
Date du début: 1 sept. 2015, Date de fin: 30 juin 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The EVS project "Start. Run. Grow" involved two volunteers from the UK and is the result of cooperation between the NGOs Change Agents (The UK) and Center for European Initiatives (Ukraine). The project activities took place in the city of Sumy over the period of 6 months for each participant. The primary objective was to provide the volunteers with the opportunity to learn basic entrepreneurial skills, active citizenship, inclusion and participation, as well as acquire sense of being non-formal ambassadors of the EU abroad. This project was also designed to help the Ukrainian organization become more institutionally sustainable and Europe-oriented during the hard times of the country transformation by introducing social entrepreneurship initiatives for the organization and the local community. Moreover, we developed solidarity and cross border relationships between Ukrainian youth and their European neighbours. Together we celebrated the broad diversity that exists in Europe, and help to strengthen the way to a larger, more encompassing European Union. The planned activities included helping the organization with existing social enterprise activities such as organizing movie screening, language classes, concerts, presentation, workshops, exhibitions etc; support and administration of language courses and language camps of CEI; development of the local artisans online shop; search for investment opportunities for the organization and the local community; PR-events for the organization, support of the organization's website www.eu.sumy.ua; and starting volunteer's own social entrepreneurship initiatives. Planned Methods: project design, management and implementation; workshops on EU issues; facilitating shared information and collaboration between organizations; conducting native language clubs; development of future EVS opportunities for Ukrainian youth. The project helped volunteers gain new skills and knowledge which helped increase their chances at the labour market and provided good opportunities for career growth - and thus contributed to the development of their own country upon their return.
