The Kreisvolkshochschule Neuwied e.V. is officially recognised as a further education organization according to the Rhineland-Palatinate education law. It offers area-wide local further education for all residents in the administrative district of Neuwied.We want to assure our regional position against other educational organizations. At the same time we want to qualify our training staff for languages by education abroad. Our aim is to improve the quality of our language courses and to encourage more younger, advanced and work-oriented learners. Furthermore we want to increase the number of course participants in the levels C1 and C2. During this project we focus on the languages English and Spanish.We perform six Mobility activities with six participants on a project duration of 12 months in England and Spain. One of the participants (born in 1962) is an English teacher and has participated in training courses of the Volkshochschule and seminars at the University of Mainz about adult education for languages. The second participant (born in1954) is also an English teacher and studied English and History at the University of Bonn. After 10 years working in free enterprises as a senior secretary she has worked as a teacher with civil service status for 23 years now. She also performs English courses for our KVHS. The third participant (born in 1970) teaches Spanish and is a longtime lecturer at the KVHS in the field of Spanish language teaching. Besides of this he offers several services like mediating business contacts in Spain and Latin America as well as translating and interpreting services on self-employed basis. The fourth participant (born in 1975) teaches Spanish also for the KVHS. She has lived in Germany since 2001. Two further Mobility activities are reserved for teachers teaching other languages than the above ones.All participants want to expand their knowledge in the fields of methodology and didactics. They also want to structure the grammar part of their lessons in a more practical way. In addition they want to broaden their knowledge in terms of colloquial idioms and youth language. All participants want to increase the attractiveness of their courses by their new knowledges and by restructuring their lesson plans.For the future we hope that more of our other teachers will be motivated to participate in training sessions abroad and to use the multiple possibilities like further education and sitting in on lectures under the Erasmus+ program. Participants will be accompanied by a project manager throughout the complete project duration. The project manager creates plans, tasks, performs evaluations and controls the success of the project.
