The project entitled " European Internship for a better training of future economists ' started with our school’s need to raise well prepared and efficient administrators of human, material and financial resources, specialists in the priority areas of our region , and to instruct our students in accordance with labor market demands in order to strengthen the economic context of the area, an area where economic development activity is poor, faced with high unemployment rates and an intense labor migration to other countries of the EU such as Italy , Spain , Germany. However, this need can not be satisfied while the practical trainings take place in very small family-owned businesses, or school laboratories and workshops, and because of this, the school has sought opportunities in European projects to help overcome this disadvantage. This project should meet the following training needs of our students: - to shape and develop technical skills and key skills in line with the new standards imposed by the changing labor market and training;, - to form contact with strong economic agents who possess well -trained human resources as well as cutting-edge technological equipment to facilitate the acquisition of knowledge , skills and competences necessary to make a natural transition from school to work; - to take the first step toward an informed choice of career because of direct contact with specific skills in the economic aspects ; - to discover some elements of organizational culture; - to cultivate a sense of professional satisfaction and respect for the work done and results obtained ; - to earn diplomas and certificates that validate and recognize internationally the practical experience acquired by students still in school . Based on these needs, the objectives of our project are as follows: The overall objective of the project is to improve skills and competences for students who are in initial training in order to facilitate their insertion in the labor market . Specific objectives : 1. The students should gain modern analytical techniques and methods of product quality ; 2. Improvement of skills and knowledge of computer use in accounting ; 3. Familiarization of students with the lifestyle in a European country with the purpose of educating them for European citizenship and intercultural awareness ; 4. Developing entrepreneurial skills and improving language skills. Project participants are 16 students in the XII grade , with qualifications as Technicians in economic activities, who will undergo 90 hours of practical training internship provided according to the curriculum of modules in the XII th grade: ‘Quality Management’ and ‘The Use of Computers in Accounting’, corresponding to UC 13 t and UC - 24 standard training for the qualifications mentioned, in private companies that have as their field of activity providing accounting and financial services , as well as various economic services in the Portuguese city of Barcelos. The expected results of the project are : - The increase , improvement and the gain of in-depth knowledge, skills , specialized competences of participants; - The acquisition of entrepreneurial skills; - Personal development; -Llinguistic and cultural development; - Increased motivation to learn in other students; - Establish a firm practice;, - Develop an auxiliary curriculum on " Management and quality in managing one’s own business "; - Develop ties of cooperation and exchange of best practices with European partners; - Increase the capacity of the school to attract European funds.
