Rechercher des projets européens

Sprach- und Praxiserfahrung für Fremdsprachen- und Eurokorrespondenten
Date du début: 1 janv. 2015, Date de fin: 31 déc. 2015 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The aim of our project is to enable our students at the vocational Language College Passau to become more mobile within Europe. They are given the opportunity to recognise and deal with the linguistic, intercultural and professional challenges this implies. In addition, participants in the project gain an awareness of opportunities for their own professional development on the EU labour market. Their participation in this project is a contribution to European cooperation. The project participants are students in their second year of training at the Language College Passau. (Vocational education leading to qualification as State-Recognised Multilingual Assistants: Main foreign language English; Specialisation in Business Studies/Economics plus Spanish or French, often starting at A1 level) as well as students studying for a follow-up one-year course to qualify as State-Recognised Multilingual Business Assistants. The majority have a secondary education certificate at entry-level, most are from the Passau region and very few have any experience of other cultures. Most of them aim to work in international trade and international management following their training. The stay abroad is planned to take place from 06.09.2015 to 25.09.2015 in Brighton und St. Albans/UK with a group of an estimated 45 students. Simultaneously, a group of an estimated 10 students from the BAP is to travel to Malaga/Spain and Nice/France respectively. Since most of the students travelling to the UK have a good or very good knowledge of English, their stay will focus on acquiring work experience in administration or customer service. Wherever possible, each student will be allocated a work placement which matches their personal skills and interests. This happens in a process of close collaboration between their German teachers and the British organisers of Work Placements UK both before and during their stay. The focus of the stays in Spain and France is on professionally-oriented language training. The designated language courses are specifically tailored to business contexts. Company visits and meetings with people from the business world provide valuable insights into the labour market and working conditions of the host countries. This is a valuable experience for students planning to work in export-oriented industries or companies involved in international trade. The outcome of the project is that participants will have significantly improved their language competences and acquired practical experience and insights into the world of work in a another country. This encourages their willingness and motivation to work within a European context. Their future job chances on the European labour market are also significantly enhanced.
