The mobility project "Update of language, culture and society for language teachers" aim at fascilitating study visits and work placements in other European countries for all foreign language teachers at Malvik Upper Secondary School.The aims of the study visits and placements is to contribute to further develop the teachers' practical language abilities and improving their knowledge og cultural and social aspects of countries relevant to the languages that they teach. Through the periods abroad the teachers will improve their abilities of oral and written text production. On an overall level the school also wishes the stays abroad to give teachers impulses that will contribute to assuring the quality of the education that is given.The language teachers' participation in the project will contribute to a professional and academic update of both the individual teacher and the language department as a whole. The mobility project wil contribute to a better quality of the language teaching in the school and further develop the teachers' abilities of following up the main areas of the curriculum for foreign languages. It is an important goal that language skills necessary for a variety of communication situations are to be improved.The most important of the learning outcomes that the project will adress are actualized through the main areas of the curriculum for foreign languages: Learning of languages, Communication and languages, Culture and society. Targeted visits to relevant European countries will give opportunities for professional reflection with colleagues and academic environments abroad. Stays abroad will also contribute to establishing a professional network that may be used in day to day teaching, as a tool of academic improvement and as a basis for establishing future international partnership projects.
