Sport with Heart

The youth exchange "Sport with Heart " took place in SVČ Déčko Náchod (in the Czech Republic) between 26.7.-1.8.2015. During the project 28 youngsters with leaders ware actively involved in the process of youth collaboration. The aim of the project was to promote inter-cultural dialogue and to encourage youngsters to adopt a healthier lifestyle including beneficial eating and exercising habits. The participating countries were Slovakia, Hungary and Czech Republic. The duration of the activities was 7 days. The project containd a mixture of non-formal active learning methods - outdoor activities, actions and sports such as climbing, hiking, basketball, football; colorful and diverting games; and discussions, debates, inclusion activities, icebreakers all around healthy lifestyles. During the 7 days of the project a friendly European sport competition were held between countries where they could demonstrate the obtained respect for each other's identities. The countries were involved to contribute to the project by bringing their own types of sport and healthy dishes. It created a source of intercultural knowledge. Leaders and volunteers at the project enhanced their competencies by learning how manage an international group of young people and better understand sporting traditions in different nations. All participants gained further benefit from peer learning by sharing intercultural ideas and skills. The final result of the cooperation and inputs was an international guideline book to a healthy lifestyle, which was assembled by the youngsters during the week of the project. The creation process of this book was first of all promote inter-cultural cooperation and gave the youngsters the opportunity to work together to form as part of collaborative learning. Keeping healthly daily routine and sharing it within the community and cultures is one of the longer term benefits . Every person who took part in the project received a Youthpass Certificate, which describes and validates the non-formal and informal learning experience and outcome acquired during the project. We ensured that the project was inclusive to young people with fewer opportunities which includes youngsters with economical and social difficulties .
