Date du début: 1 juin 2015, Date de fin: 31 mai 2017 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The project "Spolecne anglicky" (Together in English) has emerged from the need of "Gymnazium Jiriho Wolkera" secondary school to deepen methodological competence of its teachers of the English language and improve language competence of the non-language subjects teachers. These teachers will create new teaching documents (teaching plans) for the school's new Educational Programme English for the Future, which requires some non-language subject to be taught partly in English. The project's aim is to introduce innovative teaching methods to the lessons of the English language as well as development of the teaching of non-language subjects in English. The project will involve 8 experienced teachers (4 of the English language and 4 of non-language subjects), all of who are highly motivated to improve their professional and personal skills (language and methodology). The main activities will involve creating a team of participant, team meetings, choosing the provider of assistance (agency that will help us with organizing transport, insurance, accommodation and structured courses in the UK), realization of the structured courses in the UK, applying the acquired competences and into teaching practice and evaluation of the outcome of the project (feedback to the school's management). Methodology od the projects is based on two steps. 1) assesment of the initial situation and setting the goals - this is done in the form of inteviews with the heads of departments and other teachers responsible for creating teaching documents (e.g. teaching plans) and 2) choosing the eligible participants from the school's employees - this will be based on long-term observation of the teacher's work and willingness and motivation to improve personal and professional skills. Choosing the agency that will help with organization of the courses (and transport, accommodation etc.) in the UK will be done, based on the requirements of the superior authorities, through a tendering process. The outcome of the project will be 8 trained teachers, innovation of teaching methods in the subject of the English language and introduction of teaching non-language subjects in the English language. Expected impact of the project will be satisfaction of the demands of the school's management and students - i.e. introduction of the innovative teaching methods. Long term benefit of the project will be anchoring the idea of teaching non-language subjects in English to the region, widening the local view of education and lifting it to European level, strengthening the feeling of Europeanism, enabling the school's students to study and do research at foreign universities, or acquiring a job with a foreign company.
