This EVS is an individual project entitled "Spinning Alternatives for Community Development in Nepal"; it involves one Sending and Coordinating Organization, Spin Association from Portugal, the Nepalese hosting organization Alternatives from Nepal and one Portuguese volunteer. The volunteer will be placed in Pokhara-Nepal for 6 months and will be involved in the activities and projects developed by the hosting organisation on the frames of Youth enterpreneurship and urban/rural development. She will also be able to develop and implement her own project ideas in the field of youth work, youth information and intercultural learning. The methods used will be non-formal education methods focused on participatory and learner-centered approaches.In this collaboration, the volunteer will have the opportunity to experience a different culture and way of living, to master many useful tools and competences in the field of rural and urban development and to learn about, as well as to contribute her skills in communications and youth information. Importantly, this project will facilitate exchange of practices and ideas between Portugal, EU member state, and Nepal, a developing country in South Asia.
