The subject matter of our project is to develop new and effective approaches in social, cultural, artistic and sportive fields in order to develop confidence and a sense of responsibility on our students, to create new areas of interest and to gain new skills on them by analysing the implementation of social activities and social club works in Europe. In addition to this, our goal is to enable our teachers to observe examples of good practice in other schools in Europe in order to change our teachers’ point of view in social activities and club works. ABSTRACT OF THE PROJECT: In Turkey, Social activities and social club works are arranged according to regulations of Ministry of Education. These regulations bring a standard to these activities however there are still some lacknesses. At the beginning of educational year, each teacher chooses a social club according to his/her branch and guides students in accordance with the contents of their social club. But teachers sometimes don't pay attention to importance of club works and they accept it as an angary. Theoratically, social activities work perfectly but in practice, most of time teachers don't follow carefully. As a result students don't develop their skills sufficiently in social, cultural, artistic and sportive fields. Another main problem is that almost all of the practices are ordinary and similar around the country. In the presence of those problems having been experienced and those wrong attitudes, we aimed to see and observe how extracurricular activities are being applied in other countries out of Turkey, to apply the new skills and approaches that will be won in result of these observations in our own school and to make them widespread in other schools with this project. By this way, our teachers will be able to change their attitudes and perspectives and gain new skills. Based on the idea that social activities and social clubs need to be paid more attention in relation to the students’ education and progress, we also aimed to make the teachers give the necessary importance to this matter, to show what kind of contributions social activities make to the students’ physical, psychological and social situations. We are planning to reach this goal by giving them the chance to see the nice samples and good applications in Europe with the help of this project. THE AIM OF THE PROJECT The main aim of our project is to make our teachers more equipped especially in social activities by giving them the chance to compare the decent instances of Europe in this area with the ones in Turkey, so they can contribute student's social and educational developments more and also they can develop new methods and techniques. It is aimed that teachers will enable to internalize the new and different approaches in social acitivities and social clubs so that they will be able to transfer those to the students and to develop new techniques and methods which will help the students’ improvement in this matter. In addition, with the help of this project it is aimed to improve new methods and techniques to make students gain such attitudes, behaviours and skills as respecting human rights and democracy, recognizing themselves, improving their talents and using these talents for the sake of themselves and society, studying regularly, using their free time effectively and fruitfully, being enterprising, being flexible, working cooperatively, producing and applying new projects for the sake of society, having confidence in themselves and the people around them. With this Project, we also hope to develope our teachers’ language skills, to make them gain the necessary skills and competences for their personal development on the way to being an active European citizen. Besides these, we aim to develope our teachers’ perceptions about European culture and lifestyle, to transfer cultures and to introduce them the educational methods and techniques which are applied in Europe by giving them the chance to experince them in exact place so that they will make a contribution to their professional development. The mobility process of our project will be in Vienna, Austria between 26/01/2015 - 08/02/2015. A Director and 12 teachers' totally 13 school staffs, will join to our project.
