Solidary Europe: online micro-funding to build a better future

The Help Freely Foundation uses new technologies for innovative and social purposes, giving a hand to thousands of Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) all over the world thanks to a multiplier effect which converts small actions into visible results on a larger level. This happens though different web tools that enable solidary shops to donate a percentage of their profits to the NGOs that users themselves choose. One of the main objectives of the project is to establish a global network of Cooperation between users, businesses, the media and NGOs which allows each member to benefit from the others. Furthermore, the aim of this first project is to promote social entrepreneurship and partnerships, active citizenship and volunteering, non-formal education, cultural exchanges and youth employment. There are 7 organizations taking part in this project. The Help Freely Foundation will have a coordinating role, while the other 6 organizations (Akzente from Austria, Scambi Europei from Italy, Concordia Rhône-Alpes from France, ICYE from UK, Kumulus from Sweden and Centro cultural de Hispanohablantes from the Netherlands) will send one volunteer each. The volunteers will work at the Help Freely Foundation's Headquarters, located in downtown Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. However, their work here will have a worldwide impact and will encompass several fields, languages and cultures. The global perspective of our projects will allow the volunteers to choose their own fields of action and, permanently supported by our staff, to feel the satisfaction to see their input have large-scale social impact. The volunteers will have the chance of developing themselves in the preferred areas thanks to the task diversity and our staff's open character. Since we count on many experts among our staff members, we are in a position to excellently train the volunteers in several areas. First of all, the volunteers will go through a general training on the nonprofit digital marketing and the Help Freely Foundation's mission, apart from a cultural and linguistic introduction. After this period, the volunteers will learn more specifically about the technical deeds of digital marketing. The volunteers will be hosted in a shared flat nearby the office, so that they can easily walk home. Both the house and the office are located in downtown Las Palmas, really close to the beach and strategically connected with the rest of the city and the island by bus. SELECTION PROCESS AND CRITERIA We believe that human factor is most valuable in any project. Therefore, our selection process is based in the worth and attitude of the volunteers, in their eagerness and enthusiasm, regardless their origin, culture and background. The Help Freely Foundation will be happy to host those volunteers who are as eager as we are to be part of this project. What we are looking for are committed, responsible, open-minded young individuals who are willing to learn and innovate, regardless their nationality, genre, sexual or political orientation, ethnic group, race or physical aspect. We want the volunteers to enrich us with their experiences and cultural backgrounds; we want them to inspire local youngsters to follow their examples and take an active role in Europe. We believe that human factor is most valuable in any project and we know that every selected volunteer will contribute to our mission in a surprising and innovative way. TASKS - Contacting solidary marketing partners worldwide. - Managing marketing accounts for our partners. - Looking for new nonprofit strategic partnerships. - Offering digital support to our solidary partner shops and NGOs. - Taking care of the digital campaigns for our solidary partners. - Community Management (project dissemination) - Taking part in outdoors volunteering activities in the city. All activities will be supervised by our staff and mentors. The volunteers will be properly trained and will never be individually held responsible for these tasks. The volunteers will work 6 hours a day from Monday to Friday, but this working hours will include enough time for their evaluations, language course, personal project and project dissemination. The voluntees' participation in our project will be most valuable since it'll magnify our multiplying effect and our European dimension. They will be the nex between the Foundation and its worldwide solidary partners and they will help establish a long-term stable cooperative network to support social projects and iniciatives in several countries. Moreover, they will have the chance to develop themselves personally and professionally, increasing their employability. Finally, the volunteers' presence in our local community will result on a valuable interaction with the local youngsters, who will get closer to the European reality and discover a new world of possibilities to better their future.
