Soft skills for teachers, trainers and education staff
Date du début: 1 juin 2016, Date de fin: 31 mai 2017 PROJET  TERMINÉ

All the three seminars chosen complement each other featuring the qualities of an excellent teacher. The first one «Teaching through Video Making» provides participants with tips and methods for the creation and adaptation of audiovisual resources (movies, music clips, documentaries, news, their own videos.) to teach their subjects in a more effective and enjoyable way. The best teaching methodology though is not enough if rapport is not developed between teachers and students and a harmonious atmosphere prevails in the classroom. For this reason the other two seminars come to complete the puzzle of a successful teacher. «Soft skills for teachers , trainers and education staff» as well as « Conflict resolution and mediation skills» focus on developing communication, interpersonal skills and techniques for classroom management. Specifically in Soft Skills seminar participants are taught among others communication and learning styles, how to plan a public speech and how to deliver an effective presentation. In the conflict resolution seminar, participants are taught among others the meaning of emotions, defensive communication, conflict styles and the process of mediation. It also goes a step further to provide mediation skills and turn conflicts into opportunities of learning experience.Seminars will be attended by a small number of participants from 10 to 15 making learning more effective. In all three cases the courses are open to teachers and adult education staff. Methodology is highly practical and participative with hands-on approach that comprises real-job examples, case studies examination and simulations. The institutions organizing the seminars embrace collaboratively working methods that foster mutual learning and cooperation among participants. The focus is on learning in an interactive and international environment. The pedagogical methods that they use are based upon experiential training, group and peer activities, learning-by-doing and best practices exchange. During the course the participants will be working in groups thus having the chance to learn by each other as well as having feedback by fellow teachers, trainers and educators. Free time has been planned to give to the participants time to assimilate the concepts, develop further the group activities, ask trainers for further clarifications, etc.The impact of the seminars on the three participants will be immense since they will learn new techniques to make their lessons not only interesting and attractive to their learners but also effective and lasting. The seminars will enable the participants, with enriched knowledge, to work in a new, under control classroom environment where rapport and mutual communication will be its main feature. Moreover, difficulties arisen won’t be called problems but a challenge to learn more. The participants will enjoy long term benefits since networking and cooperation among participants will be supported and stimulated by the institutions organizing the courses. They also organize optional social, networking so that the participants can exchange best-practice and establish professional cooperation and links. Cultural activities are also organized in order to give participants the opportunity to know the host country. The training and staff team is multinational thus giving a full European dimension to the course. All the above will make the course a strong and memorable experience having a lasting effect on participants’ both personally and professionally.
