Social Theatre for  community empowerment
Date du début: 4 juil. 2016, Date de fin: 3 juil. 2018 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The right to take part into cultural life is included in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (art.27). Being active part of it implies to have access to the cultural and social life of the entire community. For different reasons people can be excluded and marginalised from the involvement in cultural activities. A denied access to culture can bring to fewer opportunities for people to develop social connections which are necessary to maintain a sound and satisfying co-living in conditions of equity. The mobility project "Social Theatre for community empowerment" wants to facilitate the exchanges among culturally and socially different groups, to adapt cultural planning in order to make sure that it addresses a diversified audience or that it is accessible to disadvantaged people for economic, cultural, disability reasons and other problems. The project includes 30 mobilities in Finland, Germany, United Kingdom and Spain and it is promoted by a consortium composed of 5 cultural entities belonging to the Network Teatri Solidali of Bologna (Italy). The aim is to create a team of professionals who will collaborate to the development and sustainability of the network. The challenge is for it to become more competitive thanks to the management skills of its members as well as its internationalization and innovation. Moreover, the project contributes to meeting the Erasmus+ Programme's objectives of developing social capital and human talent among professionals and support them in their lifelong learning process. The project coordinator is the institution Gian Franco Minguzzi, born in 1980 as a research and documentation centre on the history of psychiatry and social exclusion. It promotes a socially inclusive culture and approach pursued through the creation and joining of networks, services and social organizations both formal and informal. The project will bring a perspective on the future that enables to imagine alternatives and to be aware of the new methodologies of social theatre. The group of beneficiaries of the mobility will be committed to transfer the new competences acquired abroad into the Network Teatri Solidali. These mobilities will surely bring benefits for the community and to the several territorial entities involved in the projects of inclusion and awareness raising promoted by institution G. F. Minguzzi. The hope is to trigger a process of modernization and innovation to tackle one of the biggest challenges for Europe: the inclusive growth.
