Social Educircation- specialized vocational training for circus professionals to enhance Social Integration
Date du début: 1 sept. 2014, Date de fin: 31 août 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The SOCIAL EDUCIRCATION project is built on a strong partnership of 7 organisations from seven European countries. We created the partnership to share theoretical information and practical experience in the field of SOCIAL CIRCUS, both among the project partners and to disseminate these findings to a wider circus and social professional community. The definition of Social Circus is to carry out SOCIAL WORK USING CIRCUS TOOLS. To use the magic of circus to work with special groups that have fewer possibilities: immigrants, the physically or mentally impaired, Ethnic minorities, elder people, orphans, street children, youth or adult prisoners. Our project makes SOCIAL CIRCUS A MORE DISCUSSED METHOD OF WORKING WITH SOCIALLY EXCLUDED GROUPS. We aim to show that circus can be an alternative way of reaching social, physical and mental development. During the 2 years activity Partners provide SPECIALIZED VOCATIONAL TRAINING in two different manners; A 5 day training in groups, and also an individual job shadowing activity. Every partner hosts a high-level specialized workshop in a specific topic offering training for an average of 14 participants. Besides the members and employees of the partner organizations, places at the workshops are available for the wider European community of social circus. To develop partnerships between education and EMPLOYEMENT we build connections and cooperate with associated partners and realize a communication towards governmental sector, decision makers and other institutions acting in the social field or education. We assess our employees by these vocational trainings, we evolve a MULTIPLIER effect by disseminating the results to circus professionals and transmitting the idea of social circus to teachers, educators and professionals of the social sector. We also have a huge effect on the PATIENTS/ CLIENTS we are working with, since they gain COMPETENCIES, which are essential for their integration into the labour market. In general we increase the market of social circus. Each single partner is working with more than 500 individuals per year: clients/ patients, some of us work with thousands. This international network allows us to raise the quality of this work and increase the number of experienced teachers. Beside several remarkable effects on the personality and vocational skills of the beneficiaries our MAIN RESULTS are the transfer of best practices to the partners, and in an indirect way to the wider circus and social sectors. Participants of the workshops will be given a CERTIFICATE of attendance from the hosting organisations and the workshop leaders. They can use these certificates in their future professional life, and add it to their curriculum vitae. The project is INNOVATIVE since we specialize our trainings on new topics, involve new partners and produce professional material. It is also COMPLEMENTARY to European work, since our network is an opportunity for other organizations as well to increase their knowledge in the field of social circus. Although the administration of the project is centralized towards the National Agency, the partners emphasize on having a decentralized, DEMOCRATIC partnership among them based on consent and common agreement. Partners share tasks and take a common RESPONSIBILITY for the QUALITY of the project. Partners keep continuous contact during the two years, communicating through skype meetings, group emailing, document sharing and at network meetings. We aim to gather and PRODUCE VISUAL AND WRITTEN MATERIALs to present our results, which documents will be shared on our platforms and disseminated to professionals in our communication channels: website, newsletter, events, articles, videos. All the project activities are embedded into our ongoing national activities, so as to ensure its sustainability.
