SOCIAL DIGITAL MENTOR
Date du début: 1 juil. 2016, Date de fin: 31 oct. 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Today, seventy-five million young people are unemployed globally and within the EU over 15 million aged from 16 to 24 year-olds are looking for employment. Due to the economic crisis, young people's transition from education to labour market is difficult. At the same time, today's modern society is characterised by the widespread use of internet and Social Medias. Social medias represent an advantage for companies which exploit online networks and platforms to select and hire the most suitable employees, having available wider information on the candidates' profiles. However young people are not always aware of the risks connected to the use of social medias, especially in the context of job searching. On the social medias, youngsters may present aspects of them that are not appropriate from the point of view of the companies offering job positions. For this very reason, we have decided to organise a training course for youth workers and leaders throug team building activities, workshop, experience and laboratory to discuss how to help young people to join the labour market through the effective and appropriate use of social medias. Young people need to know how to create their digital identity, starting from their educational background, working experiences, language knowledge and ICT competencies, and how to preserve it in order to become an optimal candidate to enter the EU labour market rapidly and effectively.General objective: to promote the employment of young people, through a more effective and appropriate use of social mediaSpecific objectives: 1. to raise awareness of youth workers and leaders on the use of social media to access the labour market; 2. to provide youth workers and educators with tools to create and use innovative and interactive educational and training materials, in order to help young people to build their social profiles in view of their entrance in the European labour market; 3. to train youth workers and educators to be "social digital mentors" for young people of their association and local region. Transversal objectives: • to raise awareness on the importance of language knowledge as a means for widening the field of job search; • to develop entrepreneurial spirit and initiative among young people; • to strengthen the youngsters' feeling of European citizenship and foster their active participation to the EU political, economic and social dimension. The “Mentoring” will be the methodology to be transferred to youth workers as a non-formal learning tool for shared learning, where the mentors will be able to offer to young people their support, advice and information related to the project issues . The mentoring relationship is a two way process which potentially benefits both mentee and mentor as they can learn from each other. Participants will acquire the knowledge on how to create and preserve their digital identity and how to transfer these new acquired abilities to young people of their associations to become more suitable candidates in the European labour market. At the end of the project, participants of different nationalities will become qualified and well-trained “Digital Mentors”. They will improve their competences to deliver effective counselling, coaching and consultancy services to their target groups (youth, families) and acquire the potential to foster entrepreneurship and employability capitalising on the transversal skills acquired through the participation of the training activities. Associations involved in the project will increase their knowledge of practice, ICT methods and tools to promote employability among youth and in their local societies. They will benefit in terms of sharing good practice and will improve their project management skills and enlarge their networks and exchanges in the field of guidance, social networks and employability. The consortium is formed by Italy, Spain, Portugal, Poland, Romania, Slovenia and Slovakia with 33 youth leaders, facilitators, mentors and youth workers.
