The SMA Solar Technology AG would like to give a part of their trainees the opportunity in the profession "industrial clerk" and "office management" to make a unique experience. The trainiees can apply for the project in the second year of training.The following selection criteria are defined:- the academic achievement- the results of the intermediate examination- the internal assessments- the language skills an the personalityIt´s planned that the intership procees after the intermediate examination for a period of 32 days. This project is planned for 6 trainees in the profession "industrial clerk" and "office management". The trainees will be sent to our subsidiary in Milton Keynes (SMA Solar UK LTD.) and support the colleagues in the sectors service, sales and marketing.Furthermore it would be possible that the trainees get a geman project and implement it in UK.The trainees learn much about foreign cultures because of the stay abroad and the close contact to the natives. Due to the working relationship and leisure activities, the contact is rather different compared to the contact they would have had as a tourist.This means that they gain different and deeper experiences. After the trainees got over the first barrier, they are able to improve their language skills enormously in a really short time. They can also improve their intercultural competences, because of the gain insight into the lifestyle and functioning of the different cultures. This broadens the personal horizon, promotes tolerance, respect, trust and understanding towards others. The special circumstances ensure that the trainees learn a lot about themselves, their personal limits and how to deal with those. This is a major advantage for their personnel development. All these aspects increase the professional opportunities, because it gets more and more important in our globalized world to adjust to other cultures and languages. A stay abroad could be therefore seen as a big plus in the curriculum vitae.During the practical training abroad the trainees make friends and build business relationships which also continue after the stay abroad. This could be also an advantage for the cooperation between SMA Germany and SMA UK. Also a taking over of the trainee in a subsidiary could be possible.
