Skolotāju un audzēkņu mācību mobilitāte
Date du début: 1 juin 2014, Date de fin: 31 mai 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Vocational Education Competence Centre “Riga Technical College” (VECC RTC) carried out “Erasmus +” mobility project “Teachers and Students Learning Mobility” during the period of June 1, 2014 – May 31, 2016. The project had two goals – educational and social ones. The educational goal was connected to the professional development of teachers and students, while the social goal was to assist socially disadvantaged young people by involving them into the project. Each academic year about 2000 students from different regions of Latvia study different technical subjects at VECC RTC. These specialists are especially demanded in the labour market in Latvia and the European Union. VECC RTC offers 11 study programs and 11 vocational education programs, as well as an assessment of professional skills acquired outside the formal education system. Consequently, the college experiences a need for highly qualified teachers and professional knowledge base to better prepare the students professionally. That is why VECC RTC takes part in different programs and projects, including Erasmus+. The aim of this project also was to increase the professional knowledge and competence of VECC RTC teachers and students in technical subjects. The target group that participated in the project were VECC RTC students and teachers from Information and Communication Technology department, Metalworks, Carpentry, Mechatronics and Automotive Transport programs. These fields are one of the most active introducers of different new technologies and methods, and it means the users must have a high level of knowledge to be able to work with them. During the project together with Lithuanian Kaunas School of Information Technology, Technology and Business School of Ukmerge, Malta Paragon Europe organization and Tampere Vocational College Tredu 7 mobilities (i.e. 4 teacher group and 3 student group mobilities) were completed. In total, 34 mobility participants (16 teachers and 18 students) and 1 assissting teacher were involved in the project. The main project activities were connected with obtaining new skills in technical subjects depending on the respective professional area of the participants. Mobility participants had the opportunity to practice working with new tools, up-to-date technologies, new applications, as well as experience an unknown working environment and process organization. It was also possible to find out new information regarding various teaching methods and materials, successful companies etc. Project also played an important role in improving the social and personal competences of its participants, as well as increasing the solidarity between different countries. All Erasmus+ activities were carried out in accordance with the terms and conditions of the program. The Europass Mobility documents and certificates issued by partners record the competence of all participants. The obtained skills and professional competences are being used by all participants both in the teaching/learning process and in their career development. The teachers are able to apply the obtained knowledge in long-term teaching process and preparing students professionally according to the European labour market demands. The students, in turn, are using the acquired knowledge in the study and work environment, thus promoting the knowledge transfer, and reducing the risk of unemployment risk when enetering the labour market. A particular benefit is the establishment of new contacts for future cooperation.
