“School’s strategy-innovations as development opportunity”.According to the planning documents “Europe 2020” and “The national development plan of Latvia 2014-2020” investments in human resources – raising vocational education teachers’ qualification, support to material and technical basis modernisation and improvement of education content are significant preconditions for supplying labour force corresponding to labour market demands.To make strategic contributions in development of educational institution it is important to invest in development and growth of human resources potential. In order to realise the above mentioned Daugavpils Technical School has worked out “Priorities of Daugavpils Technical school development 2015-2020”, determining teachers’ professional competence development and improving quality system in the school, students’ practice in foreign enterprises. One of the main priorities is development and qualitative improvement of conception of vocational education including good practice examples from European vocational education institutions, adapting innovative teaching/learning methods and forms, approbating them in our school. Exchange of experience and getting acquainted with new teaching methods in Europe give us the opportunity to study education systems of different countries more extensively. Motilities should facilitate modernisation and internalisation of the school.The activities of the project are aimed at the development of new innovative experience in Europe for the specialists and students involved in the vocational education and training in areas supported by Competence Centre of Vocational Education that will contribute to their professional and personal development, and the development of their intercultural and foreign languages competences. The project consists of two directions: exchange of experience in Austria (1), Spain (2) and the students practice in Germany (3), Portugal (4). The goals of exchange of experience are the following: (1)to learn the educational concept of vocational schools in Austria and Spain; (2)to learn pedagogical concept of cooperative open learning in Austria; (3)to study establishing and work principles of students’ training companies in Austrian vocational education institutions; (4)to familiarize with dual vocational educational system in Austria; (5)to learn principles of “green thinking” and its application in learning process in Spanish vocational education institutions; (6)elicit examples of good practice to encourage cooperation among institutions involved in vocational education in Spain; (7)to learn innovations and to develop competencies in the field of vocational education; (8)to familiarize the participants of the project with the quality management in vocational schools; (9)to strengthen the capacity of the participants of the project in upgrading vocational programs and methodological developments; (10)to improve the participants’ foreign language skills; (11)get acquainted with history, culture and traditions of the receiving institution.The goals of students practice are as following: (1)to develop and to strengthen professional skills corresponding to the European standards, thus increasing professional possibilities and competition for involvement in the European labor market; (2)to learn the latest technology and methods in chosen profession in practice; (3)to link theoretical knowledge with the practice in foreign company; (4)to contribute the development of personal qualities such as activity, mobility and sociability with the aim to help the participants of the project to build independent professional life; (5)to improve opportunities for social integration of students; (6)to improve students’ professional German and English language skills and their intercultural competences.The team for the exchange of experiences consists of: 16 specialists of vocational education and training involved in: energy (1), materials technology (1), economy (1), logistics and transport services (1), technical mechanics ang graphics (1), metalwork (1), IT (1), mentors of practice (3), international mobility specialist (1), specialists of a professional planning (1), participants involved in a management process (4).The team of students consists of 8 students: 4 (hairdressers),4(programmers).
