Elementary School Ostrava - Michálkovice, allowance organization is placed in a small district of the city of Ostrava. The school was established in 1965. The education is provided in 9 years (1st – 9th), mostly in two parallel classes. 344 pupils attend the school at the moment. The school has 40 employees.Our teaching staff are trying to make maximum use in their educational work of modern teaching methods and forms of work with pupils. Nevertheless, the needs have been identified (see EPS), which motivated us to participate in the Erasmus+program and its KA1 . The aim of our project is to improve the teaching skills of teachers at our school (introduction and use of modern forms and methods in teaching pupils with SEN, expansion of CLIL along with support of linguistic diversity for teaching the curriculum).By implementing this project we will meet these stated objectives:- ability to react to new trends in education and their implementation in the educational program of the school- gain experience of inclusion and education of pupils with special educational needs and their integration into the educational process- introduction and adoption of new methods and forms of education, especially CLIL - link of theoretical training to use in everyday life, making learning attractive, enriching vocabulary in context for elementary education, the use of communicative methods, using authentic materials, motivational games in the classroom, methods of supporting independence of a pupil, E-Learning and others.- familiarization with foreign educational system, pupils with SEN, participation in special education, the use of an assistant teacher in the classroom, early diagnosis and support for these pupils.- establishing new contacts, participation in international projects - shadowing, mobility of pupils.13 qualified teachers in our school have been interested in participating in the project.Two teachers specializing in teaching foreign languages - English and German.Four teachers teaching science: mathematics (2), geography and natural history (2). One teacher teaching the Czech language.Six teachers teaching at the first stage of our elementary schools. The experience of these teachers is from 3 to 25 years. 10 teachers will attend training courses in English speaking countries and 3 in Germany.All teachers involved in the project are creative in their work, not afraid to introduce modern teaching elements, eg. project and group method, experiential learning, simulation methods. They also widely use modern information technology, which our school is equipped with. All these methods have met with great success especially with integrated children with learning disabilities.They are open to meet new trends in education, which would help to encourage language learning and especially when working with disadvantaged pupils.The main activity of the project is the realization of the participation of teachers of the school in educational mobility abroad. Participation in the courses (10 days) is planned for the summer of 2016/17 school year. We will choose from courses in English and German-speaking countries (England, Scotland, Malta, Germany). We will select courses that suit the most to the needs of the school and contain useful topics (- principles of CLIL; ways of implementing CLIL in teaching; using varied communicative activities; practical application, extension and application of own ideas; presentation and use of teaching methods for pupils with SEN; use of ICT and interactive whiteboards in the classroom; the use of web platforms, expansion and improvement of language skills), and thus fulfill the objectives of the project.The overall impact of the project on the organization will be seen mainly in the area of increasing the competence and motivation of teachers, increasing the efficiency and attractiveness of education at our school, as well as expanding the school network of relationships, which will allow us to participate in international school projects.
