The Primary School Okna is a small village school . It consists of a primary school , pre-primary school , school club and a school canteen . We are focused on Environmental Education and English. We have been developping cooperation with other schools in Europe. We support the inclusion of pupils with special educational needs - there work two assistants . We use modern technologies. We organize sport and outdoor activities. We cooperate with other village schools of our region . Our school is in progress, the number of pupils increases, next year there will be opened a new department of the pre-primary school - the forest kindergarden. The aim of our project is to develop the knowledge and skills of teachers in the areas that interest them and that meet the needs of our school . Five teachers will participate in five selected courses. The content and the country of the courses have been selected to increase their professional and language skills. The headteacher and class teacher will attend the course focused on pupils with special educational needs in the United Kingdom; the class teacher , English teacher and ICT coordinator will attend the ICT course in the United Kingdom; the class teacher and PE teacher will attend the Outdoor Education course focused on sport activities in Iceland ;the English and PE teacher will attend the Outdoor Education course focused on "out-of-school" activities in Iceland;; the forest kindergarden teacher will attend the Outdoor Education course focused on art and craft activities in Iceland. The courses will increase professional and language skills of the participants. The participants will use the acquired knowledge and skills in their work. They will share their experience with the colleagues from our school and other cooperating village schools in the region. Participation in the course will increase the teachers´ motivation for their further work . They will get in contact with their colleagues from other countries. Participation in the project will increase the standard and prestige of our school .
