Skills For The Future
Date du début: 1 oct. 2009,

The critical issue addressed by the “Skills for the Future” project is an unsatisfactory level of influence of labour market signals (employers’ and enterprises’ expectations) on the content and execution of educational curricula of higher education institutions. Employers and professional organizations are, only slight drivers for curricula reforms in EU countries. The main aim of the project is to increase the quality of higher education institutions services to satisfy labour market needs. The project will lead to: 1. Better understanding enterprises’ needs through the research on entrepreneurs' expectations from higher education. This activity is aimed at determining fundamental needs of enterprises from higher education systems and at indicating the most necessary actions aimed at better satisfying of those needs through the 4-countries survey. 2. Development of competition among higher education institutions on how to satisfy business (employers') needs in the best way. This goal will be addressed in the attractive form of "TEST FOR THE BEST. EUROPEAN SKILLS ACHIEVEMENT CONTEST"- a public contest conducted in 4 European countries locations for last term students and graduates (with possible participation of all LLP countries). 3. Building strategies for better cooperation. It will address the problem of lacking cooperation attitudes amongst higher education institutions and enterprises and will support new management approaches to shaping educational offer. This activity will lead to working out the European Framework for Effective Cooperation and designing and application of the Software Package to support cooperation. The project results will be implemented in 32/48 higher education institutions, presented on the Internet and will be disseminated throughout European higher education systems. About 80 managers of higher education institutions in 4 countries will be trained on how to introduce cooperation systems with enterprises into practice.
