The project proposal with the theme “The quality system in hotels across Europe” applied by the Technical College “Mihai Bacescu” is designed to satisfy the needs of students to increase their motivation for professional education and training that proved to be concretized in low results and high absenteeism, which is one of the week points identified in the SWOT analysis from School Action Plan 2015-2017. The target group of 30 pupils, divided in 2 flows, from the services profile, in the tourism and food/ tourism field of education is representative (=27% of the 10th grade pupils from this profile/flow) and can ensure the dissemination of result on the level of all pupils studying in this field.The pupils’ mobility will be made in 2 flows (15 pupils/flow) in 2 different countries (Spain and Portugal) in order to be able to identify from 2 distinct sources the main domains of the quality system of a hotel and to be able to compare them with the Romanian economical environment.The abroad mobility of the pupils is necessary because:- the adaptation and the implementation of the quality systems is far superior in Western European countries- in Suceava county there are no hotels with ISO and/or HOTELcert International certification- the lack of practical training hours at the “Quality of hotels’ services” module, a fact that limits considerably the pupils capacity to apply in practice the theoretical knowledge- receiving the Europass Mobility Certificate confirms the gain of the competencies and it is recognizes at European level;- the development of the practical training in 4 or 5 stars hotels with a large tradition in the tourism field will align the needs of training and education to the European one giving them the possibility to a better work labour insertion, both at local and European level;- the competencies formed during the work placement will enrich the list of specific competencies stipulated in the School Program for the "The quality of hotel's services" module in the 10th grade, becoming an added value of their professional training.The project responds to the training needs of our pupils regarding:- the compatibility of the professional training with those of the labour market;- the update of the professional competencies to the new tendencies in the field (tourism)- the determination of the main domains of quality commune to all hotels from the 2 countries where the practical activities will take place- the improvement of the professional communication competencies in a foreign language (English)- the development of intercultural, social, autonomy and self-evaluation of own strengths competencies In order to satisfy the training needs of our pupils, the project aims:1. To make compatible the training of the pupils with the labour market demands in the tourism field2. To update the professional competencies to the new tendencies in the tourism field regarding the implementation a quality system3. To determine the main domains of quality commune to all hotels from the 2 countries where the practical activities will take place;4. To improve of the professional communication competencies in a foreign language (English)5. To develop intercultural, social, autonomy and self-evaluation of own strengths competencies All the knowledge, the skills and the competencies developed during this project will be used by the participants on the drawing up the Comparative Study “The Quality System in Hotels across Europe” considered the final material product of the project.The training placement of 3 weeks, 6 hours/day carried out in hotels in Spain and Portugal will ensure the development of the proposed specific competencies, leading implicitly to the obtaining of the project’s objectives.The theme of the project brings an added value through the fact that it anticipates, on a small scale, the European Standardization Center plan to establish a common frame of standards in the field of services.So the pupils participating at this project will have the opportunity to establish themselves such a common frame of the quality systems used in all partner hotels, therefore gaining the skills to follow the new tendencies, initiative, independence and the capacity to adapt on a new social and cultural environment.The added value of the professional and personal training of the participants is confirmed by the Europass Mobility Certificate.The project will contribute to attaining the objective regarding the quality of the educational process of the pupils but also the institutional development through transnational projects, especially the one this project refers to directly: “The growth of the flexibility and the adaptation of the educational and professional training offer to the requests of the labor market, on the base of personal and professional development needs, according to the tendencies of economic development at local, national and European level”, School Action Plan 2015-2017.
