"Sings in Europe II" is a project born from the desire to continue the work started in September 2014 with the project "Signs in Europe", aimed at promoting deaf culture and sign languages in Europe and the integration of the deaf and hearing communities. This new project is different from the previous one since, after the first experience and its and the results obtained then, new goals have been set for the deafness context. We intend primarily to form professionals, that already have contacts with the deaf culture in order to realize recreational activities, but also to have the competences to help deaf and hearing youngsters in preparing the curriculum vitae and to help them in the job hunting. These initiatives will be completed in the partner organization countries. Finally an international exchange will be the opportunity to gather and to evaluate what was achieved in the previous six months, and to set new goals for the future. Thanks to the European Parliament resolution of 17 June 1988, with the support of the European Commission, the Sign Languages have been recognized as languages used by deaf people, as well as their right to use them. This resolution encourages European countries to promote the use of Sign Languages and implement projects that support and teach the Sign Language to hearing people. The objectives of the project are: - to break down the barriers of communication in every context of daily life and help disseminate best practices for accessibility; - to remain vigilant on the concepts of identity, language and culture, stimulating a reflection on deafness which invests not only the deaf community but also hearing people, so as to encourage dialogue and debate; - to pomote the integration deaf and hard of hearing . Promote active knowledge of deaf culture; - valuing differences . To counteract discrimination; - to combine diversity and creativity; - to raise public awareness on the issue of deafness and communication for a new reading of disability as different skills; - to encourage language learning and promoting linguistic diversity and intercultural awareness. 7 partners will participate in the project and an unpredictable number of boys and girls. Unpredictable because it will depend on how many boys and girls will take part in local actions in the home country of the partner. It will be rather limited the number of participants in the first phase of training that will last six months and will involve seven partners and two deaf and two hearing participants for each partner. This first phase will be devoted to the training of those who already have contacts with the deaf culture and that wish to expand their knowledge and skills for the activation of actions for the promotion and integration of deaf and hearing culture. Each partner will bring its own experiences and skills so that other participants can acquire new ones and so implement the second phase of the project. In particular, the Italian partners will hold a training methodology and didactics of teaching LIS to deaf and hearing users. Groups of deaf and hearing youngsters (we cannot predict their number) will participate to the second phase. During the six months of the second phase the partners will activate local actions to increase knowledge and awareness of the participant’s abilities and skills in both the formal activities and in the creation of their profiles and resumes for job hunting. The third phase will be the first opportunity for the partners to meet and evaluate the local actions after the first three months of activity involving a deaf and a hearing people. This moment will be held in Minsk, at the Belarusian partners home organization. The fourth phase, the international exchange, will involve three boys and three girls deaf and hearing, and a group leader of a leading group for each partner. These ten days will complete the project. The exchange will be the way to evaluate the entire project. During the exchange the youngsters, who have also participated to the local actions, will report their experiences and their results, achievements and their expectations for the future. There will be opportunities for discussion and practical moments in which boys and girls could show their works made during local actions. The curriculum vitae and the European Youth Pass will be tools that the groups will analyze, create and review during the international exchange. The project will use of the principles and methods of non-formal and will be conducted with a style that promotes active participation and personal development of the participants, both as individuals and as a group, in every phase of the project, sharing methods and good practice.
