Ship Actively! is a project that is made in co-operation between Finland and Croatia. Two organizations, who met in a YiA training "Eastern Express 2013" came up with the idea of Job Shadowing realized 2013, and now this youth exchange would be continuation of that project. Croatian organization ACADEMICO has participated in opening of the new youth center in Croatia. Havukoski Youth house is one of the big and functional houses in Vantaa and it is a cultural youth house. Havukoski Youth house is coming to Croatia to show Finnish youth work and culture in the area of Vantaa, to motivate Croatian youngsters to take more active role in their youth center and experience Croatian culture. And Croatian partner will share the experience with No Hate movement, sports, theater and will learn a lot about Finnish culture. Since in hosting city there is very poor faith and information on youth work among both youngster and community, we hope for this project to develop social capital among young people, to empower them and increase their ability to participate actively in society, mobility and youth center work in future. We would like to promote cooperation, recognition of non-formal education, mobility, cultural and social diversity to have a positive impact on the qualitative development of local youth centers and youth opportunities. Total 19 participants (8 youngsters per country + 3 group leaders) will engage in 7 days youth exchange which learning outcomes will be better linguistics skills, improved cultural awareness, knowledge about youth opportunities, No Hate movement and other cultures, increased skills in sport, rescue, theater and organization. Methods that we are using are - learning by doing, experiencing things, quizzes, workshops, debates, presentations, sharing experiences, acting, peer learning, sports, social medias, event planing, indoor and outdoor activities. Themes are youth information and youth leisure. Main objectives of the project are to support and encourage youngsters to participate and promote young people´s active citizenship in the areas of youth issues in regions, presentation of their cultures, learning about other cultures, social manners and Erasmus+ program. Healthy lifestyle, good behavior, tolerance and cultural diversity and rights and wrongs of the hate speech are also objectives. Expected impact on participants is the increase of their skills and competences stated in the objectives. Main results will be participants further activism in the field of civil/youth activities and increased number of visitors and participants in local youth center activities. Community impact would be increased interest and improved of work local youth center - what we hope will lead to many more projects and make the life environment more open and quality in Slavonski Brod as the main result.
