Sharing Cultures, Acquiring Knowledge, Enriching Skills: A Cross-European Training Project
Date du début: 1 juin 2015, Date de fin: 31 mai 2017 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The project in a nutshell is to better equip our students with updated, internationally oriented knowledge and skills through two-week practical trainings in countries outside Cyprus. The students follow a program in tourism studies and the above-mentioned skills are of higher importance, especially in their chosen professions, in order to prepare them to enter realistically a very competitive job market. The connection to the European industry could very well be their selling point. At the same time we would like our school to become more international, so internalization through cooperation with other European partners and the industry would provide -besides the students- the faculty, the program, and the school itself with valuable experience and opportunities for cooperation in other projects. The participants of the program are students of the tourism studies, both Cypriot and foreigners, of high academic standards and who show enthusiasm to learn and would handle work oversees. During the 24 months we apply for the current project we expect to have three flows of 15 second and third year students each. Through the help and supervision of our partners the students will work in hotels and restaurants, practicing what they have been learning in theory at school in a much more different / European environment that they would back home. Accompanying teachers from the home school will also supervise the activities while students will need to keep log books about their experiences that will be evaluated with the completion of their mobility. The results and impact envisioned is that the participating students and their accompanying teachers will return back with valuable experience. To the participating students the experience would undoubtedly provide them with better understanding of the international scene and job-market, as well as life-long knowledge and skills important to their future careers. To the program and the school the knowledge and skills will transfer through both students and faculty who will act the "ambassadors" of change.
