The project submitted represents the evolution of the Series Mania European Co-production Forum. The 5th edition will take place from April 24 to 27, 2017. The event, initiated in 2013 thanks to the support of the MEDIA program, achieved major accomplishments and now needs an ambitious development to better meet the needs of the industry. Series Mania European Co-production Forum has already proved its efficiency to encourage the production of high-quality content in Europe. The main framework of the event - one pitching session followed by one-on-one meetings – was effective and has already led to concrete results. . It must now be reinforced – by increasing the number of projects and participants - but without large-scale structural change. Nevertheless, our desire is to progress and to establish within the framework of the Co-production Forum, a real European TV Series Market dedicated to fiction series, the first of its kind. In order to facilitate the circulation of European works within the Union and beyond its borders, Series Mania will strengthen the tools for program sales and will works to gather more international TV buyers. Series Mania will offer to the major sales and distribution companies the opportunity to rent mini-stands, organize private screenings and promote their shows through our enriched professional video-library. The Market will also offer a special visibility to the "new digital serials formats" that are growing in the industry and changing consumer’s habits. These considerable innovations will extend the services of our event, following the wish expressed by the French Minister of Culture and Communication, Fleur Pellerin, to make Series Mania the international reference of a major international event exclusively dedicated to fiction television series : which represents an exceptional opportunity to seize for France and for Europe.
