The project aims to enhance environmental awareness towards preserving the natural values of the Ier/Ér Valley by: - establishing an exhibition and interactive educational/information centre for the presentation of the natural values of the valley;- creating the conditions for the environmental-friendly visitation of the Daru-Marsh, assuring the necessary framework for environmental awareness, and the long term preservation of Ier/Ér Valley specific natural values.The main activities of the project comprise the following: i) Establishment of the Joint Environmental Exhibition, Education and Information Centre (restoration of Zichy Castle in Diosig (Romania), rehabilitation of dendrology park, equipment purchasing for the Centre, development of the exhibition content, exhibition, setting up educational room;ii) Development of the environmental infrastructure of Daru-Marsh in the vicinity of Kokad (Hungary), more specifically, the rehabilitation of dirt road leading to Daru-Marsh, and the development of an educational pathway with 7 information panel.The target group is formed by:- Project Partners staff (2 local governments, 2 Natura2000;- Aprox. 180 environmental and nature protection NGOs from Bihor and Hajdú-Bihar, 2 Environmental Agencie;- Aprox. 100 elementary/high schools from Bihor and Hajdú-Bihar - inhabitants of Diosig (6944) and Kokad (693);- 40-50 regional stakeholders (local governments, representatives of environmental and nature-protection NGOs, environmental agencies, researchers, teachers);- Aprox. 200 000 children and youth from the educational institutions of the two counties - farmers from Ier/Ér Valley (estimate: 2000) - population of Bihor, Hajdú-Bihar (and neighbouring) counties. Expected Results: Main results: 1 Joint Environmental Exhibition, Education and Information Centre established, 1 dendrology park and 1dirt road rehabilitated, 1 Joint Strategy for the preservation of marshes and swamps in the Ier/Ér Valley developed
