Date du début: 31 déc. 2015, Date de fin: 30 déc. 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

In the European Union, 16.9 % of boys and 12.7 % of girls are early school leavers, so reducing the average European rate of ealy school leavers to less than 10 % by 2020 is one of the education headline targets of the Europe 2020 strategy because individual early school leavers are more likely to be unemployed, to be in precarious and low-paid jobs, to draw on welfare and other social programmes throughout their lives, and to encounter difficulties in gaining a place in vocational traning. They are much less likely to be '' active citizens '' and to become involved in lifelong learning. On the other hand, Akşemseddin Science and Art Center gives education for gifted or talented students. There is some evidence that as many as half of all students with IQs above 130 get below average grades, and in one study 13% of high school drop outs were gifted or talented. Gifted or talented students who fall behind don't have inspiring experiences in school. In fact, according to a study of gifted or talented students who dropped out of school , several school factors were described as the primary reasons for leaving school, but the most common is that lessons that don't engage their interests - Gifted and exceptional children crave exciting and challenging activities. Unfortunately, special education programs focus on all special students except the gifted or talented. Usually, the curriculum is extended and lessons are restructured to suit the needs of academically challenged students. The gifted students, on the other hand, end up dealing with boredom, lack of motivation, and the disappointing realization that they don't belong in school. So, developing the capacity of school staff to create and maintain learning environments that support at-risk pupils is of crucial importance to reducing early school leaving. Teachers should be suported to develop and adapt different methodologies and skills to meet the needs of individual pupils. Teachers should also be given more time and space for teamwork and to draw on the expertise of other professionals. more opportunities for networking among schools having experienced similar challenges in relation to early school leaving and having overcomed them would be ideal. So, we have decided to attend the training course which will be organized by the school whose name is Zespół Szkół im. Tadeusza Kościuszki w Żarkach which is located in Zarki/Poland and whose aim is to make lessons more interesting through fun actiivities, games and IT usage. As a result of it, lessons will engage students' interests and keep them at school until graduation. After the training course, we will take our knowledge forward. For example, a meeting will be held among the teachers at our school. Also, a seminar will be given to the other teachers at different schools and in Niğde Provincial Directorate for National Education because gifted or talented students go on their education at their own schools, but they come to Akemseddin Science and Art Center before or after their schools. Besides that, a seminar will be given to 61 headmasters of Science and Art Centers when they have a yearly meeting in Ankara as they are suffering from the same problem. Furthermore, a digital book which consists of entertaining activities both in English and Turkish will be prepared, and it will be uploaded to the Facebook page and web-site of the school without any limitation on the use of the open license because early school leaving is a big problem for all of the schools, and the activities which are prepared in order to prevent it should be accessible for everyone. Moreover, we will set up an E-Twining project and a KA2 project under the framework of '' Cooperation for Innovation and the Exchange of Good Practices/Strategic Partnerships for Schools Only '' whose aim is to prevent early school leaving through entertaining activities. In conclusion, the topic of the training course has the capability of being sustainable, and through this training course, we will help not only teachers at Akşemseddin Science and Art Center but also the teachers in Turkey and in different countries bring new ideas, strategies and resources back to the classroom in order to rmake lessons more interesting and reduce early school leaving.
