The project aims at expanding the skills of those working in hospitality. Hospitality is a labour-intensive industry so it is worth investing in the training of hospitality professionals however due to seasonality it often occurs that the hotel is obliged to use the same employee in different areas, e.g. a waiter might be placed in the housekeeping department, or front office department by the end of the season. The hotels often face such problems in employment - which is proved by the fact that the members of the consortium welcomed the idea to train catering pofessionals further into hospitality - front or back office or housekeeping. Hoteliers /owners and managers of hotels in Hungary/, members of hotel associations, and the applying training institution firmly believe that the project does have such tangible and intangible outcomes which improve the standard of hospitality:- more qualified workforce- stable jobs- job security- reasonable workschedules- higher standard of hotel service- more satisfied clientele- returning guests- more income By completing the course the participants who are already skilled in catering, will have better chances to find a job at hotels or guesthouses where there is a rising demand for multiskilled workers. As the course will obviously raise the chances of the participants in the labour market it is supposed to become popular with young catering professionals. We expect that there will be a steady number of participants which guarantees sustainability in the long run as well. As the course will be a course for adult learners, and will not be involved into the curriculum of the school, it will be submitted for accreditation by the Hungarian Adult Education Accreditating Office, and later other insitutions will also be authorised to run the course throughout the country. The overall aim however is to enhance the competitiveness of catering professionals in hospitality industry which is the ultimate target and also the ultimate envisaged impact.
