The project Schwupdiwup + aimed to integrate physically disabled and socially disadvantaged volunteers in international camps during the summer in Vienna. In total Grenzenlos was running 3 integrative camps where 12 EVS volunteers were involved. Within this project 7 EVS volunteers were funded. They were involved in the following project activities AUGARTEN – VIENNA 6th – 27th of July: The aim was to practice integration through renovating parts of famous park in Vienna through different activities such as planting trees, taking care of the old ones, rebuilding new zones. Participants were approximately six hours working for five days a week, together with local gardeners. Let´s Act 28th of July – 17th of August: The focus of the project was on a theatre play, which was written and performed according to the fantasy of the participants. The common aim was the presentation of the end product in the context of a final event. The theme of the play dealt with different topics such as exclusion, integration, tolerance and anti-discrimination. Besides the theatre-playing, the group made some renovation work in the Augarden. Jewish Heritage 27.7.-16.8.2014 Parts of the oldest Jewish graveyard in Vienna in the 18th district were renovated and restaurated. The volunteers could participate in different creative workshops apart from the renovation work and received thematical inputs on the Jewish history in Vienna. The project was prepared by an advance planning visit of the involved organisations in order to prepare the volunteers better for their time in Vienna and for Grenzenlos to get to know the exact profile of the volunteers.
