Schüleraustausch BS Eichstätt - NWRC
Date du début: 1 sept. 2016, Date de fin: 31 août 2018 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Background of the projectBeing internationally orientated plays an ever growing importance at our vocational college. It is important for our commercial sector and for our trade section at our college. Many of our middle-sized enterprises have transnational connections and our apprentices should learn as early as possible intercultural behaviour and understanding and working methodologies. As a result of this it is extremely important to train them internationally during their apprenticeship atour college.Embedded in the frame of QmbS and of the school development process which evolves out of it there can be observed that a growing international orientation is required. This can be seen in the strategy of internationalisation of our mission statement as well as in understanding of quality standanrds for our school. (SQV)Teachers of the Vocational College Eichstätt who participated in their first ever Erasmus mobility project could be convinced that the vocational college NWRC in Northern ireland is a suitable partner for our students´exchange programme. Our partner in Northern ireland is writing an application for the Erasmus programme with identical aims as we have got them: Same amount of students, same targents, same target group.TargetsIt is our target to meet the requirements of internationalisation of our students. The apprentices should achieve and improve their employability on the international market by aquiring additional qualifications and certificates. By achieving professional, intercultural, linguistic and and personal competences the apprentices will be enabled to stand up to the requirements of our partner enterprises. As a result of this they can contribute to economic development of our region. The already established contact with our partner the NWRC should be deepened via our students´exchange programme and equally turn into a long -term programme. Both partner colleges want to establish a long-term partnership. We both hope to find more understanding for the development of our organisation and curriculum.Paticipants16 apprentices of the dual system and two accompanying teachers will be participating within the next two year in two flows in the programme. They will be representatives of the metalwork, systems mechanic, engineering specialists and carpenters. Their school-education ranges from the normal "Mittelschule" (does not exist in GB) to GCSE. The apprentices will be attending the North West Regional College in Londonderry/Derry in Northern Ireland. At the NWRC they will be attending courses which correspond to their own profession, they will be doing work placements in companies and they will be attending a language course. In addition they will be participating in extra curricular activities as outings and guided tours to places of interest. The apprentices will get to know will get to know the diffenrences and commonalities of educational and vocational education and their methodologies. Theyy will aquire relevant professional, linguistic, intercultural and personal competences.Description of activitiesDuring the two weeks students will be either at the college NWRC, following up specific courses or they will be at companies in the area. A detailed plan yet to made when it comes closer to the time of departure and the participants´needs are elevant. During the first week there will a two hours language course on a daily basis. For the weekend we plan to do outings to the surrounding areas of Derry and we will also visit Belfast for a day. The special situation regarding politics and religion should be in the focus as well during our visits. After their two-weeks stay abroad students receive a certificate of the NWRC and the Europass.Furthermore 2 teachers are participating as guides in the programme as there will be several students under 18. They take care of the students during this period abroad. They will be with them in the college and they will also visit the companies. They will be helping the students when they are needed.Via close cooperation with our contact partners at the college we hope to get an idea of the procedures and structures of the college. We would like to perceive strength and weeknesses.Success and quality of our mobility programme will be monitored and evaluated during the whole period of our stay in Northern Ireland. (dialogues with our partners of NWRC about feedback, talks with people responsible for the training of young students in companies, reports and questionnaires).
