Zanneio Model Experimental Lyceum has set priorities with respect to the professional development of its teaching personnel, for the school year 2014-15, as follows: a) enhancement of the digital skills of teachers and further implementation of innovative teaching techniques and best practices in the teaching of STEM (Science, Technology and Mathematics) curricula, as well as follow-up with up-to-date science and technology developments, especially in Modern Physics and Robotics. Attendance of relevant courses is expected to enrich everyday teaching techniques with inquiry-based activities and also enrich with new curriculum areas, so as to ultimately lead to an increased involvement of students in Science and Technology learning, as well as prepare young people for higher studies in STEM fields. The orientation of the School to promote excellency and innovation and also work for the professional development of teachers of the greater geographical area is also expected to be highly served. b) enhancement of leadership and strategic planning skills to contemplate with a broad set of goals that Model Experimental Schools are required to achieve in a rapidly changing environment (e.g. goals relating to high school teaching enhancement and promotion of excellency, implementation of teaching innovations, mentoring of university students, teacher training, etc.) This plan of such professional development is expected to further emphasize into the School's international orientation and be beneficial to further development in general.
